Age limit

For the Sub-Inspector (Executive) position, candidates must be between 20 and 25 years old.

NOTE – Minimum height requirement for RPF SI: 160 cm for males, 155 cm for females from Kumaon, Gorkha, Garhwal, etc.

Medical Standards

To pass the medical test, you need to fulfil the criteria mentioned below. If you don’t match them, you can’t qualify.

• Normal vision without glasses
• Candidates with flat feet, knock knees, squint eyes, or other physical issues are still eligible for employment.

Selection Process for RPF SI 2024

1. Computer-Based Test(CBT) – Phase I

Candidates begin with an initial online examination covering General Awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence, and Reasoning.

2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT) – Phase II – 

Following the CBT, successful candidates proceed to Phase II, which involves running, long jump and high jump. The physical standards required may vary depending on the specific job post.

3. Document Verification–

Candidates then undergo a process where they provide the necessary documents to confirm their eligibility for the position.

4. Medical Examination – 

Those who pass the document verification stage undergo a medical check to ensure they meet the required health standards for the job.

5. Final Merit List – 

Finally, a final merit list is compiled based on candidates’ performance in the CBT, PET, PMT, and document verification stages.

1. Wrong answers incur a deduction of one-third ⅓  of a mark.

2. The exam lasts 90 minutes and is computer-based with multiple-choice questions.

Before the 7th Pay Commission, Railway Protection Force Sub-Inspectors had a grade pay of Rs. 4200, and their salary was based on a pay band of Rs. 9300 to Rs. 34800. However, with the 7th Pay Commission, the grade pay system ended. Now, RPF Sub-Inspectors start at basic pay of Rs. 35400 (Level-6) under the new pay matrix.
